We put one set of the appliques by the crib and another by the changing table. Our daughter has become quite fond of the monkey. Around 3 months she began "talking" to him when being changed or when she woke up. We'd often hear her babbling in the early hours; when we went to check on her she had wiggled around to face the monkey. She smiles/laughs almost every time she sees the monkey. Now, she's also excited to see the other animals. I think placement is key with these. NOTE: To line up the appliques, put a strip of painter's tape on the wall (you can check how straight it is with a level) to guide your placement. The first set, we used a measuring tape and 'eyeballed' it. We learned our lesson. The appliques are definitely straighter on wall on which we used the tape.
